Terms of use

By using Sol you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use it. Sol is operated by Neil Lobo, an individual operating from the United Arab Emirates, reachable at loboneil@icloud.com.

Sol is a self-help tool. Using it does not create a therapeutic, medical, or professional relationship of any kind, and no one involved in Sol is acting as your clinician.

Sol does not diagnose conditions, does not treat them, and does not give medical advice. The exercises it offers are drawn from well-established self-help approaches, but they are offered as something to try, not as treatment prescribed for you.

Nothing Sol says should be used to decide whether to start, stop, or change any medication or treatment. Those are decisions for a qualified professional who knows your situation.

Sol is meant to sit alongside real care, not to replace it. If you are struggling, please talk to a doctor or a therapist.

Sol is not an emergency service and cannot help in a crisis.

No one monitors your conversation in real time. Sol has automated checks that try to notice signs of crisis and point you to help, but they are imperfect and will sometimes miss things. Sol does not, and will not, contact emergency services, a crisis line, your therapist, or anyone in your life on your behalf.

If you are thinking about harming yourself, or you are in immediate danger, stop using Sol and call your local emergency number or a crisis line right now. In the United States you can call or text 988, or call 911 in an emergency.

Sol’s replies are generated by an AI model. They can be inaccurate, can misread what you meant, and can occasionally state something with confidence that is simply not true.

Treat what Sol says as a prompt for your own thinking, not as fact and not as advice. Use your own judgement, and check anything that matters.

Sol also builds a “map” of themes it notices in what you say. That map is a set of guesses, not conclusions about you. It is yours to correct or delete, and Sol will show you what any entry came from.

You must be 18 or older. Sol is currently offered only to people in the United States, and you should not use it from elsewhere while that remains the case.

Your account is for you alone. Please do not share it, and do not use Sol on behalf of someone else or enter someone else’s personal information into it.

Please do not try to break Sol, get around its safety features, use it to harm anyone, or use automated tools to access it at scale.

Sol may limit or end access to anyone doing these things. If your access ends, you can still export or delete your data.

You keep ownership of everything you write in Sol. You give permission only to store and process it in order to run the service for you, as described in the privacy policy. That permission ends when you delete your data.

Your words are not used to train AI models, and they are not used to promote Sol.

Sol is currently free. It is early software under active development, so features will change and occasionally break, and it may be unavailable at times.

If Sol ever starts charging, you will be told first and it will not happen automatically. If Sol is ever shut down, you will be given reasonable notice and a chance to export everything.

You can stop using Sol at any time, and delete everything from Settings.

Sol is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. There is no promise that it will be available without interruption, free of errors, or effective for your particular situation.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Neil Lobo is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Sol, and total liability for any claim relating to Sol is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to use it (currently nothing) or US$100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some places do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and you may have rights under the consumer protection laws where you live that these terms cannot take away.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. This does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply where you live, and it does not prevent you bringing a claim in your local courts where the law gives you that right.

If these terms change, the date at the top will change and you will be told inside Sol. If a change materially affects your rights, you will be asked to agree to it before continuing.
